DESCRIPTION:American Village is an opportunity to create and dissolve a community in real time. The process has one underlying assumption: America is still forming and each of us who lives here can contribute to that forming. As we explore through this group movement practice\, we live into the questions: \n  \nWhat kind of America might we create together\, 10 minutes at a time? \n  \nHow do we feel about what we have created together? \n  \nWhat might we learn about our inner world\, how we connect to others\, and the larger implications of what we see in our temporary social field? \n  \nThrough our actions and nonactions\, we are always creating the future\, so how might we practice becoming more aware of that in our daily lives? \n  \nUtilizing elements of Social Presencing Theater and Theory U\, participants will engage in movement and embodiment practices that reawaken our ability to sense ourselves as integral elements of an interconnected eco-system\, with power to create shifts in ourselves that ripple throughout our organizations\, communities\, and the larger world. DESCRIPTION:Join us at the annual convention of the International Listening Association as we explore the topic: \nWhen is Listening the Best Approach\, and When is it Not?  \nWe like to think of listening as this pure\, uncomplicated good—something that always helps\, always heals. But out in the real world\, it isn’t always that simple. There are moments when listening feels like opening a door we’re not sure we should walk through. Moments when someone wants to hand us a story we may not be able to carry. Moments when listening could quietly validate harm\, or blur a boundary\, or take us somewhere we didn’t consent to go. This session sits gently inside those uncomfortable moments. Together\, we’ll explore the questions most of us don’t say out loud: Should I listen to this right now? Is this mine to hear? What responsibility comes with knowing someone else’s truth? Think of this as a space to wonder together about the roles of vulnerability and discernment in our listening practice\, and how to balance them. SUMMARY:Transformational Listening Series: 4 Sessions Covering the Basics of JUST Listening
DESCRIPTION:This JUST Listening series teaches skills for building relationships grounded in trust\, empathy\, and understanding. Over the course of 4 sessions\, participants improve listening and communication skills by cultivating awareness of common communication challenges and ego-driven behaviors and practicing skills for listening with intention\, to ourselves and others\, and responding with humility and curiosity. \nOur methodology is grounded in self-reflection and awareness based-systems change. We provide weekly self-reflection activities to encourage self-awareness of personal communication challenges and emphasize the importance of micro-practices-small\, intentional actions that\, when practiced consistently\, lead to transformational change.  \nSessions provide an overview of relevant research on human behavior and neurobiology as well as opportunities to practice listening and communication skills in a caring environment. DESCRIPTION:Would you like to connect with others and build community during these challenging times? \nJoin us for a “round” of Community Connection and Healing (CCH). These monthly gatherings are a space where we listen\, share our experiences with one another\, and leave feeling grounded and supported with tools and resources to carry us forward. CCH Conversations offer a safer space to listen to each other\, talk about our problems\, concerns\, difficulties\, and achievements.  \nBy sharing our stories and listening to the stories of others\, we sow the seeds of community. \nWe’ll structure our conversation using ICT methodology\, a model developed in Brazil to create safer spaces where we can truly connect and promote healing by surfacing the wisdom of the group. Our trained facilitators will set some ground rules for the discussion and then invite the group to listen and share.  \nThis is a pay what you wish event\, so contribute what you can!
